Former Korean Navy Seals officer turned YouTuber Ken Rhee publicly reacted to the allegations that Cyber Wrecker YouTuber Gujeyeok extorted money from Mukbang star Tzuyang.
The scandal erupted when the Garosero Research Institute reported that members of the so-called Rekka Union—comprised of YouTubers Hwang Cheol Soon, Gujeyeok, Crocodile, Ganggo, Caracula, and Eom Tae Woong—allegedly blackmailed Tzuyang for billions of KRWs (millions of USD).
Following the report, Ken Rhee took to his YouTube community to share his thoughts on Gujeyeok being one of the cyberwreckers who threatened Tzuyang.
He wrote: "Hello, this is Captain Lee Geun. Gujeyeok once shoved a camera in my face, and I smashed that phone. When the phone was being serviced, the recorded files were leaked and made public. Stay tuned to see how far that phone I launched will go."
"Everyone who messed with me is destined to face the consequences."
In another post he wrote, "Gujeyeok, Caracula, Jeonggukjin, and the Rekka Union...Are you even human? For over four years, a woman was sexually assaulted and exploited, and now the Rekka Union is threatening and extorting money from her..."
He also wrote, "Cyber wreckers are all the same. They harass hardworking celebrities and extort money from them like serious criminals. This time, Gujeyeok said they should get 200 million KRW for threatening to expose Tzuyang’s past."
Previously, YouTuber Ken Rhee had a run-in with YouTuber Gujeyeok while leaving a court hearing for breaking the passport law in March 2023 at the Seoul Central Criminal Court District 21. At the time, it was reported that Ken Rhee had allegedly punched Gujeyeok in the face as the YouTuber followed close behind him, asking him questions. He also famously slapped the phone out of Gujeyeok's hand. While the phone was being repaired, audio recordings of the cyber wreckers blackmailing Tzuyang were found and later leaked. Ironically, shortly after the phone-slapping incident went viral, Ken Rhee predicted that karma would catch up to cyber wrecker YouTubers like Gujeyeok. It seems his prediction has now come true.
Korean netizens commented:
"I wish other YouTubers would stop talking about Tzuyang... She is clearly a victim, and when I see what's happening, it feels like other YouTubers are using her to boost their own image. No matter how good their intentions might be, I hope YouTubers would just leave Tzuyang alone."
"I understand the comment above, but I personally want the perpetrators to be widely exposed and serve jail time. Public opinion needs to be stirred up for the perpetrators to receive proper punishment. Of course, I also dislike it when the victim is brought up for secondary victimization."
"Ken Rhee's tone is so funny."
"This whole leak started because Lee Geun smacked a phone... I'm not sure what to make of this..."
