Japanese right-wing forces are once again making baseless claims against BTS, this time involving Dokdo.
Recently, an SNS account sharing various news from Japan posted a video of BTS leader RM wearing hanbok and singing "Dokdo is Our Land."
This video was from the 2013 SBS broadcast "Rookie King: Channel BTS." The account falsely claimed that RM was wearing comfort women clothes and referred to Dokdo as Takeshima.
Professor Seo Kyung-duk responded on SNS, stating that Japanese right-wing forces are using BTS to make false claims about Dokdo, causing controversy.
He emphasized the need to continually point out their incorrect historical perceptions and actions domestically and internationally to prevent such incidents from happening again.
Japanese right-wing forces targeting BTS is not a new issue.
In the past, Jimin wore a Liberation Day commemorative T-shirt, leading to the cancellation of BTS's appearance on Japanese TV.
RM also faced severe criticism from Japanese right-wing forces for posting, "A nation that forgets its history has no future. Thank you to the independence fighters. Long live Korean independence," on SNS.
