Girls' Generation's Yuri shared moments from her trip to Jeju Island, revealing some risky behavior as she is seen standing and lying down on tetrapods.
On July 24, Yuri posted some photos from Jeju Island along with a short caption, "PARTY." However, most of the photos she shared show her posing while standing or lying on tetrapods by the coastline.
Tetrapods are concrete structures installed to block waves on breakwaters. They are slippery due to active seaweed growth and have a rounded structure with wide gaps between them, increasing the risk of falling. If an accident occurs, it is difficult to escape on one's own or find someone trapped, raising significant concerns about potential accidents.
The Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries has imposed fines of up to 1 million KRW (~724.69 USD) for those who go on top of tetrapods. Despite this, Yuri attracted attention by comfortably lying down in such a dangerous place.
In response, some fans expressed their concern, warning her with comments like, "Tetrapods are dangerous, don't go up there!!!" and "Didn't your mom tell you not to climb on tetrapods?"
Meanwhile, Yuri starred in her first leading role in the film 'Dolphin.' The movie 'Dolphin' tells the story of a woman in her 30s who gains the courage to dive into the world after discovering unexpected joys, despite her fear of change.
Korean netizens were not happy and commented:
"But when you go to places like that, the warning signs are really noticeable. Do you think people just ignore them if they want to climb up?"
"That's so dangerous. So don't do that."
"Oh wow, there are so many people who really don't know about this... There definitely needs to be a large-scale campaign. Please, it's dangerous, so never go there!"
"There have been so many fatal accidents involving tetrapods that just seeing them is scary."
"Oh, I didn't know either... If you didn't know, you just need to apologize and take the post down. It's okay once you know."
"She probably didn't know, but still, that's so fearless. I don't think I could climb up there because it scares me."
"Please wake up."
"She needs to be careful."
"Please don't do things if you're told not to do it."
"People die when they fall in there."
