(G)I-DLE members have each donated 10 million won, totaling 50 million won (Approximately 39,000 US Dollars), to support flood recovery efforts.
This donation was made as (G)I-DLE recognized the significance of the Red Cross emblem and humanitarian activities, as defined by the Geneva Conventions, and decided to contribute to the recovery from the record-breaking torrential rains in 200 years.
All the members of (G)I-DLE stated, "We hope that the Red Cross's humanitarian activities to save lives will provide comfort to the flood victims and help them return to their daily lives as soon as possible."
Kim Chul-soo, President of the Korean Red Cross, commented, "I believe (G)I-DLE's support will offer warm comfort and great strength to the flood-affected residents," adding, "As a legally mandated disaster management and relief organization, the Korean Red Cross will do its utmost in the flood recovery efforts."
Meanwhile, the Korean Red Cross has been conducting emergency relief and recovery activities for 22 days, involving over 2,600 staff and volunteers across various regions severely affected by the heavy rains since July 8.
Founded in 1905, the Korean Red Cross has been the first to arrive at disaster scenes domestically and internationally, providing relief and recovery efforts, and continuing its 119-year tradition of humanitarian activities to save lives wherever human suffering exists.
