Emotional Go Jun Hee shares her side of "Burning Sun" scandal on 'Zzanbro Shin Dong Yup'

On July 29 KST, a video titled "Go Jun Hee EP. 52 Saying Everything I Want to Say Before Leaving the Show~" was uploaded to the YouTube channel 'Zzan Bro Shin Dong Yup'.

In the released video, actress Go Jun Hee appeared as a guest and showcased her chemistry with Shin Dong Yup.

On this day, Shin Dong Yup mentioned that Go Jun Hee made headlines for speaking out for the first time in six years about the Burning Sun rumors during her appearance on 'Have Breakfast and Go.' Go Jun Hee began by saying, "I thought we were still close, but we hadn't been in contact for 5-6 years."

Go Jun Hee said, "It feels a bit strange. I didn't realize we lost contact 5-6 years ago because I was so busy then. Honestly, nothing significant has changed for me. My life is pretty much the same. Suddenly, I started getting calls from all over."

In response, Shin Dong Yup said, "Even I thought the situation was absurd. But back then, the people who believed it truly believed it. Hearing that, I felt so frustrated and upset. It made no sense to me."

Continuing, Go Jun Hee said, "They said the incident happened in 2019, and I got a text saying 'the sister who went to New York.' I went to New York in 2015 and posted a verification shot on social media. They pieced it together from that. I was also with the same agency as the person involved in the scandal."

Go Jun Hee recalled, "I was busy filming the drama 'Possessed' and didn't know about the Burning Sun incident. A friend called and said, 'The sister mentioned in their KakaoTalk is being rumored to be you on the internet. What's going on?'"

She continued, "I contacted my company and asked if we should quickly clarify, but they said, 'Why bother with comments?' I was confident and thought it wasn't me, and the company seemed okay with it, so I thought it was fine. As days went by, my parents started getting calls, and I realized the seriousness of it."

Go Jun Hee added, "I felt I had to clarify, so I asked the company, but they said they didn't see why I should. Then I was notified that I was being dropped from the drama."

She stated, "I hired a lawyer, thinking it wouldn't matter if I quit this job. I was determined to sue everyone who ruined me, but I was told I couldn't sue anyone. I did sue the netizens, though. I was willing to do everything I could. I didn't realize 5-6 years would pass so quickly."

Go Jun Hee explained, "'People said, 'If it wasn't Go Jun-hee, she should have continued with the drama. If you're innocent, why quit?' But I was forced out. It wasn't my decision to leave. Yet, it was reported as if I left voluntarily," expressing her frustration.

While explaining, Go Jun Hee said, "It's tough. They gave me breaks and tried to be considerate, even though it was hard," and she eventually broke into tears, saying, "I really didn't want to cry today."
