Two female figure skaters from the South Korean national team have received provisional suspensions for sexual harassment, media outlets reported on June 21. 

According to sports media outlets on this day, a Fairness in Sports Committee organized by The Korea Skating Union convened a day earlier on June 20 to address the actions of two female figure skaters on the South Korean national team, 'A' and 'B'. 

Last month from May 15-28, figure skating representatives from the South Korean national team held a training camp in Varese, Italy. While attending the training camp, 'A' and 'B' became intoxicated in their dorms multiple times and were caught by their supervisors, resulting in the launch of an investigation upon their return to Korea.

During the investigation, it was revealed that 'A' and 'B' had not only consumed alcohol without permission in their dorms, they had also sexually harassed a hoobae figure skater. 

The investigation found that while intoxicated, 'A' had ordered a male figure skating representative younger than her, 'C', to come to the female dorms. 'A' then proceeded to sexually harass 'C'. 'B', also present on the scene, then took obscene photos of 'A' and sent them to 'C' via SNS.

Following the investigation, the Committee agreed to disciplinary action for both 'A' and 'B'. First, 'A' will receive provisional suspension from figure skating for 3 years, while 'B' will receive suspension for 1 year. 'C' will also be reprimanded for visiting the dorms of the female figure skaters, while 'D', one of the overseers of the training camp, will receive suspension from their activities for 3 months. 

'A' and 'B' may appeal the Committee's decision within 7-days after the announcement of disciplinary action. If 'A's 3-year suspension becomes confirmed, she will be banned from competing in the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan.
