Following the release of their debut single MV on June 28 EST, girl group KATSEYE greeted fans through a Weverse Live broadcast.
Before officially beginning the broadcast, the KATSEYE members were seen getting into their seats, giddy with excitement over their debut. Some of the members then mentioned that they should "get out" all the curse words before the cameras turned on, to make sure they wouldn't say any inappropriate words while live.
How did K-netizens react to KATSEYE's blunder? Some commented,
"That's funny."
"They're exactly like what I imagine typical American teenagers to be like lol."
"This is cute. They're pretty real middle/high schoolers kekekeke."
"All American curse words just sound funny to my ears."
"I mean, yes, if a K-Pop group based in Korea did this, they would be getting slammed right now.. But they're based in the U.S, so I'm sure it's no big deal."
"It's cute to me. I'd find it cute even if my favorite K-Pop idol did that."
"It's true that in Korea, people are way too strict on K-Pop idols. But we're all people here, we all need to say some dirty words sometimes."
"This would never fly in our country but hey, they're an American group."
"Maybe they're just super nervous kekekeke."
"This seems like something you'd see on an American comedy show."
Meanwhile, the HYBE Labels x Geffen Records girl group debuted on June 28 with their 1st single, "Debut".
