In the wake of the ongoing conflict between Belift Lab and ADOR's CEO Min Hee Jin, K-netizens have taken to social media and online communities to voice their frustrations and concerns, particularly about the impact on the rookie girl group, ILLIT. Many argue that the members of ILLIT are unfairly bearing the brunt of the controversy.
One online user wrote on Social Media platform X, "This marks the end of the rookie group ILLIT. Since the agency has ended it, you don't need to feel any ethical guilt anymore."
This sparked a discussion online as other netizens responded arguing that ILLIT should not suffer due to the agency's poor decisions.
One netizen responded, "Isn't this statement too rude...? How can you say that we shouldn't feel any ethical guilt so lightly? No matter how foolish Belift Lab has been, if the life of the rookie group ILLIT comes to an end, we all should feel ethical guilt."
Another netizen responded, "I thought the current situation, where underage girls are being subjected to uncontrollable levels of personal attacks, was the most toxic aspect of K-pop culture. But it gets even worse when a self-proclaimed pop culture critic in his 50s grabs a speaker and tells people not to feel guilty and to keep attacking girls born in 2007, saying her life is over. It's disgusting."
Other netizens also voiced their concern for NewJeans, who are also caught up in the feud. Many Korean netizens highlighted the troubling reality that young girls are being targeted and subjected to malicious comments amidst the ongoing conflict between the two agencies.
They shouldn't be stuck in the middle, neither should New Jeans. Just because the adults can't be adults should not mean the girls should suffer.
