Upon complaints from BTS fans, HYBE has cancelled the ‘album raffle’ which was announced as the criteria for BTS Jin’s free hugs event at the ‘2024 Festa’ to be held on June 13.
It was recently announced that Jin suggested the free hugs event for his first greeting with fans after his military discharge. In contrast to the artist’s thoughtfulness, his company had angered fans by stating that to qualify for the raffle of the event, fans would have to purchase as many albums as possible within the period of June 2 to June 6.
The fans were displeased with HYBE making use of Jin’s well intentions to boost album sales, and that it is ridiculous that fans who have already bought albums before the allocated period aren’t considered for the event. Many also mention the lack of social awareness of how mass-buying albums is extremely detrimental to the environment.
HYBE has responded that they will come up with an alternative plan as soon as possible that also takes into consideration the fans who have made additional purchases due to the previously announced criteria.

<<<<< this is so distasteful on hybe's part that i almost can't even believe it. i refuse to believe they did that, it would be soooooooooooooooooooooooo low. at this point they're not even trying to hide their hunger for money anymore, and the disrespect for their artists' fans.
