The Korean entertainment industry has been abuzz with rumors surrounding NCT's Johnny and Haechan.
Earlier this week, the two NCT members were embroiled in rumors that they had gotten sexually involved with fans in Japan. Following the rumors, SM Entertainment firmly denied the allegations and warned the company would take strong legal action against the spread of ungrounded rumors.
Additionally, through social media, Taeyong and Renjun indirectly expressed their opposition to NCT's merchandise deal with Starbucks Korea.
After these incidents, fans are speculating that SM Entertainment may have confiscated all of the NCT members' phones.
One fan shared in a popular online community, "Wow, all communication with the NCT members has been completely cut off," and explained, "Even members celebrating their birthday didn't come on (social media)... I wonder if their phones were really confiscated."
Other netizens shared their speculations as well and commented:
"I wouldn't go on social media too if I were them... It would look better if they weren't on."
"Wow, but the birthday members... fans must be disappointed."
"Well... right now is... yeah."
"Well if one member logged on, all attention would be directed to them. So I think it's better they don't log on."
"I don't think they would want to log on, in a situation like this."
"I think the members would be back slowly next week."
"I wish they don't look at their phones and just take a deep rest."
"There's so many rumors and malicious comments about them now."
"They don't need to come on now... it's going to be harder for them to be on social media and communicate."
"Everyone has their eyes on who would log on to communicate with fans. Of course, they would be eager to log on lol."
"It's better they stay away from social media right now."
