Legendary rock band FTISLAND, who debuted as the K-Pop music industry's first idol band on June 7, 2007, is celebrating their 17th anniversary today!
In celebration, I’ve compiled a list of FTISLAND’s dramas and movie-like music videos that have added color to our lives with beautiful songs, music videos, concerts, and countless memories over the past 17 years. Check out the list below and let us know your thoughts in the comments!
1. Severely: Time travels.
The hit song “Severely,” released in 2012 and dominating the charts, features a remarkable music video. The MV tells a unique story where Hongki travels through time to save his girlfriend from death!
2. Thunder: High school drama where he falls in love with the teacher.
“Thunder,” one of the unique songs in FTISLAND's debut album, has an MV that feels like a high school drama! Hongki and Minhwan are high school students and brothers. Hongki falls in love with the new teacher at school, leading to complications. Be sure to check out this MV starring T-Ara's Eunjung as a high school girl who has a crush on Hongki!
3. Heaven 1st Version: Romantic, youth, drama series.
“Heaven” is a song from FTISLAND's album "Colorful Sensibility Part 2" and has two music videos, Version 1 and Version 2. In the first version, FTISLAND members play basketball, with T-Ara's Hyomin starring as their friend who has an accident. A woman running a shoe shop informs the members, and they play a basketball game to raise money for Hyomin's treatment. Will they win and get the prize money?
4. Heaven 2nd Version: Action, thriller, romance, drama.
In the second version, the woman who saw Hyomin’s accident starts a love affair with Jaejin. One day, she is kidnapped by a psychotic taxi driver, and Jaejin goes after her. Will Jaejin find her and save her from the psychopath? Check out this thrilling MV for the answers!
5. I Hope: Fantastic, mystery, musical.
In the MV for “I Hope,” one of FTISLAND's most popular songs, the members are rehearsing on stage and suddenly find themselves teleported to a competition. They perform, and everyone gets carried away by the rhythm of their music, then they teleport back. Was this real or a dream? What was going on?
6. Unthinkable: Drama movie.
In the dramatic MV for “Unthinkable,” Hongki is seen having a good time with the members and his girlfriend, but he actually has an accident, dies, and continues to live on in their memories.
7. Pray: Drama, action.
“Pray” has a unique music video showing the FTISLAND members trapped inside small cages and struggling to escape. It powerfully depicts desperation, struggle, and prayerful waiting.
Happy 17th anniversary, FTISLAND! Here's to many more beautiful music videos and memories to come!
