On May 3 KST, musician Car the Garden updated his Instagram story with a photo of rapper Bassagong.
The photo quickly drew harsh criticism from netizens, as it is known that Bassagong was recently released from prison after being convicted of a digital sex crime.
Previously in July of 2018, Bassagong photographed the body parts of his ex-girlfriend, 'A', without consent, then shared the photos in a group chat room. In April of last year, Bassagong was charged and convicted with violating the Laws on Sexual Violence Crimes, and he was sentenced to 1-year in prison. The court ruled the same sentence during the appeal trial the same year.
Then, just last month on April 12, photos and videos of Bassagong after being released from prison surfaced online. The rapper was captured celebrating his release with his family and friends, arousing disapproval from onlookers.
And now, Bassagong has come under the public eye once again, this time in an SNS post uploaded by his good friend. Despite the amount of heavy criticism the recent post drew from netizens, Car the Garden has yet to make any other attempts to address his actions.
Meanwhile, K-netizens commented,
"It's a scientifically proven fact that people hang out with their own kind."
"Wow, goodbye Car the Garden."
"I just unfollowed him."
"I can't believe he posted that on his public social media account. Does he think he's cool for hanging out with a sex offender?"
"And he's smoking indoors? WTH?"
"No one will confuse his name now. Car the Garden, a friend of the sex offender Bassagong."
"Wow, you know it's seriously hard to capture what a sh*t person you are with one photo alone, but he did it."
"Really? A sexual criminal?"
"I'm glad I'm learning his true colors. Disgusting."
"The fact that he's this eager to tell the world that he's friends with a sex offender..."
"Congratulations, you stayed loyal to your sex criminal friend."
