Lim Young Woong has recently stirred a buzz online with his seemingly modest remarks during his latest concert series. The incident unfolded at the 'IM HERO - THE STADIUM' concert, held over two consecutive days at the Seoul World Cup Stadium in Mapo-gu, Seoul. This highly anticipated event drew approximately 100,000 fans, filling the venue to its maximum capacity despite the absence of ground seating to protect the grass.
The concerts, which sold out instantly upon ticket release, showcased the sheer drawing power of Lim Young Woong, with hundreds of thousands of fans queuing online just to secure a spot. Amid this fervor, a clip from the concert on the 25th of May captured Lim addressing the audience with a mix of surprise and humility, asking if all the fans from across the nation, referred to affectionately as 'Hero's Era', had managed to attend.
His subsequent comments, however, sparked a wave of discontent among fans. Lim Young Woong jested, "We don’t need a bigger venue, do we? If we open more seats, they might not sell. Everyone's here, right?" This was met with protests from the audience. He continued, somewhat incredulously, "I truly thought we’d have tickets left over. You must have brought every distant relative," highlighting his disbelief at the complete sell-out. He expressed his astonishment further, "How many more of you tried to get tickets? No matter where it is, as long as it's with you, I will perform anywhere," which ignited cheers from the crowd.
However, the released video clip has drawn criticism online, with netizens accusing Lim Young Woong of failing to grasp the extent of his popularity. Comments like "Lim Young Woong still doesn't understand his own fame" and "When will he understand his reach?" peppered social media platforms. Despite the successful turnout, many fans were unable to secure tickets, leading to continued requests for additional concerts.
In other news, Lim Young Woong made a comeback on the 6th with his new single 'Warmth'. The music video for 'Warmth', which challenges the singer with acting in a short film, has garnered significant attention. The full version of this short film is set to be released on various OTT platforms soon.
