KBS temporarily suspends trot singer Kim Ho Joong amid hit-and-run controversy

KBS has taken action against singer Kim Ho Joong, who was recently arrested on suspicion of involvement in a hit-and-run incident while under the influence of alcohol, by temporarily suspending him from appearing on broadcasts.

During a broadcast appearance regulation review committee held on May 29 KST, KBS decided to impose a temporary suspension on Kim Ho Joong. This decision came following allegations that he attempted to conceal the incident by having someone else claim they were the driver after being involved in a hit-and-run accident while intoxicated.

KBS has specified "illegal or immoral actions causing social controversy" as grounds for review regarding broadcasting appearances. Consequently, Kim Ho Joong underwent scrutiny based on these criteria.
