On May 14, it was reported that the infamous YouTuber Sojang has been prosecuted without detention on charges of defamation and slander against IVE's Jang Won Young.
Starship Entertainment persisted in its legal pursuit against the notorious YouTuber infamous for crafting slanderous content about several K-pop idols, with a particular focus on Jang Won Young. On this day, court records reveal that Sojang was mandated to compensate 100 million KRW (~73,232.18 USD).
According to a news report revealing some of the court documents, Sojang's YouTube channel had around 60,000 subscribers, and garnered approximately 10 million KRW (~7,323.11 USD) in monthly profit from the ad revenue in the videos. The total revenue from the videos posted on Sojang's channel was confirmed to be 250 million KRW (~183,077.78 USD).
Korean netizens responded in a popular online community where they were able to leave their opinions on this latest update on the infamous YouTube channel. Many were shocked by the revenue she generated from her malicious videos.
