ILLIT overtakes BLACKPINK and NewJeans to claim the top spot on Spotify's monthly listeners chart for K-pop girl groups

ILLIT has recorded the highest number of monthly listeners on Spotify in the K-pop girl group category.

According to Chart Masters, a Spotify chart analysis site, ILLIT achieved the highest number of monthly listeners among K-pop girl groups, with 17,719,779 Spotify monthly listeners.

Following them, BLACKPINK ranked 2nd with 17,657,601 listeners, while NewJeans and LE SSERAFIM ranked 3rd and 4th with 16,564,838 and 15,694,191 listeners respectively. (G)I-DLE ranked 5th with 11,854,058 listeners.

In the overall K-pop category, BLACKPINK's Jennie topped the list with 34,823,087 listeners, while BTS and Jungkook ranked 2nd and 3rd with 27,778,584 and 25,347,632 listeners, respectively. ILLIT secured 4th place in the overall category.

Meanwhile, ILLIT has attracted attention by being the first K-pop girl group to enter the Billboard Main Chart with their debut track and sweeping domestic major music charts.

Illit fans deny any claims that there could have been payola, but the signs are very evident. To cover up the deception HYBE should have paid the same everywhere and they didn't. I think the most obvious sign is that when Blackpink had huge numbers on Spotify they also gained tens of millions of followers on YouTube. And that hasn't happened with Illit. Group that has barely surpassed one million subscribers despite the "immense popularity."
