Kim Hiera : “Met With Parties Involved to Reconcile Memories and Support Each Other”
Actress Kim Hiera, who had paused her activities due to a school bullying controversy, has spoken out after 7 months.
On the 16th, her agency, Gram Entertainment, stated, "Last year, Kim Hiera and the company met with the involved parties to clarify long-standing memories and spent time understanding each other. We have agreed to support each other’s lives moving forward."
The agency added, "Throughout this ordeal, Kim Hiera has reflected deeply on herself to determine how to become a more responsible citizen. She is committed to rebuilding her life with a heavy heart to repay the affection shown by the public."
Gram Entertainment also expressed, "We sincerely apologize for any concern we may have caused and extend our gratitude to everyone who has believed in and waited for Kim Hiera."
Kim Hiera had risen to fame through Netflix’s ‘The Glory’ but was engulfed in a bullying scandal in September last year.
At the time, it was reported by a media outlet that during her time at Sangji Girls’ Middle School, she was part of a notorious group known as Big Sangji.
According to reports, Big Sangji was a gang within the school known for extortion, assault, and verbal abuse. Informants claimed that Kim Hiera had ordered others to run errands like buying cigarettes and had extorted money.
In response, Kim Hiera’s side admitted she had associated with members of Big Sangji but denied any involvement in assaults.
Kim Hiera herself stated, “I have never maliciously, continuously, and deliberately bullied the weak, nor have I lived cowardly. Despite my youth, I have never intentionally harmed others.”
However, further allegations of bullying by Kim Hiera surfaced, leading her agency to initiate legal actions against the media outlet that first reported the allegations, continuing a battle for the truth.
As a result of the controversy, Kim Hiera stepped down from the upcoming tvN drama 'Lifetime' slated for release later this year, temporarily halting her activities.
I think she made a settlement with her victim. It sounds like it from her statement.
