On April 26, a promotional video shared by an adult entertainment establishment in Japan garnered major attention. In the video, a hostess who introduced herself as 'Sakura Ruru' revealed, "I am a new employee who has been working for 3 months. When I was 18-years old, I debuted as a K-Pop idol and promoted for about 6 years. Now, I'm working as a hostess to save up funds to establish my own dance studio."
Netizens discovered that the hostess in the video was Haru, a Japanese member of the girl group Nature. Many were shocked to find out that a K-Pop idol was working as a hostess, and the issue caused a stir on various online communities.
However, Haru responded via her Instagram, "I did not realize that this would create such waves on Twitter. Most of the reactions on SNS are negative, but I am working hard for my personal goals, so please be kind. Don't worry, I am able to meet many great people while working at my employer, so I am enjoying my work."
When contacted about the video, Nature's label n.CH Entertainment told media outlets, "Because Nature has halted group promotions for the time being, Haru has returned home to Japan, but recently, she has been unreachable. We are trying to reach her and confirm the facts."
Soon afterward, the promotional video was taken down from the entertainment establishment's SNS.
In another recent update, Haru wrote on her Instagram story, "I want to thank those of you who are cheering me on. I am unable to say what I would like to say right now, so I'd be happy if you could wait for me just a little bit."
Meanwhile, Nature's last promotions as a group was in November of 2022 with their 3rd mini album, 'Nature World: Code W'. The group has been more or less inactive since June of last year, after releasing the OST "Fly High" for the web drama 'Sound Candy'.
I get it. Most unsuccessful idols do this or get married to someone much older. They need money and with limited skills most rely on their looks. Not saying it’s right but the industry is definitely not as glamorous as most people try to make it.
