The hit drama 'Lovely Runner' has once again shattered its own records for highest viewership ratings. According to Nielsen Korea, a leading viewership rating research firm, the 7th episode of tvN's series 'Lovely Runner', which aired on April 29 KST achieved a remarkable nationwide viewership rating of 4.5% on paid platforms.
This latest rating marks a significant 1.1% surge from the previous broadcast's 3.4%, establishing a new pinnacle for the show's viewership. Notably, the drama surpassed the metropolitan area's standard rating of 5.3%.
In this episode, viewers witnessed a poignant moment as Im Sol (portrayed by Kim Hye Yoon), a fervent fan devastated by the loss of renowned artist Ryu Sun Jae (played by Byun Woo Seok), who had saved her life, travels back in time to 2008 to alter fate. 'Lovely Runner' revolves around themes of time travel and second chances.
Despite its initial modest ratings, 'Lovely Runner' garnered significant attention and popularity, thanks to the compelling chemistry between Byun Woo Seok and Kim Hye Yoon, coupled with its meticulous and immersive storytelling. Within just seven episodes, the drama's ratings surged into the 4% range.
Particularly memorable was the reunion between Im Sol, now employed at a film production company due to a twist of fate, and Ryu Sun Jae, a top star, on the Han River bridge after 15 years, igniting excitement among viewers. A teaser for the upcoming episode hinted at Ryu Sun Jae's discovery of Im Sol's true feelings, heightening anticipation among fans.
Meanwhile, KBS2's 'Nothing Uncovered', which aired on the same day, recorded a viewership rating of 2.4%, highlighting the continued dominance of 'Lovely Runner' in the television landscape.
