BABYMONSTER is steadily gaining recognition and garnering popularity with the return of Ahyeon.
On April 5, it was revealed that BABYMONSTER had set new records, becoming the second-highest record for first-week album sales among girl groups. BABYMONSTER's first mini-album, 'BABYMONS7ER,' is performing exceptionally well on the Hanteo album sales chart.
Currently, the album is at 332,636 album sales for the first week, just behind the record set by ILLIT's "Super Real Me," which was released last week and achieved 380,056 album sales. BABYMONSTER may surpass ILLIT's record of 380,056 first-week sales since there are still more days left until their first week is up.
Korean netizens commented, "Their debut is going back and forth," "Congrats to Yang Hyun Suk's group," "That's impressive," "I wonder if BABYMONSTER will reach rank 1," "I hope they do well because they're all talented," "Their songs are really good," "Oh wow, congrats!" and "I'm happy for them!"
I know there are many complaints about the TT tracks being too YG style, but the album as a whole sonically sounds pretty good ay. Though i think its interesting that YG is directly marketing them towards the western audience from the get go with the many english releases.
