The legal battle surrounding actor Kang Kyung Joon's alleged affair is poised for a significant turn as the court decides to transfer the case, hinting at a potential merger with a de facto divorce lawsuit.

The Seoul Central District Court's 209th Civil Division recently ruled to transfer the damages lawsuit filed by Mr. A, who accused Kang Kyung Joon of adultery. This lawsuit, initially filed for alimony for adultery worth 50 million won, singled out Kang Kyung Joon for his alleged affair with Mr. A's wife.

The controversy erupted after leaked text messages seemingly confirmed the affair, prompting statements from Kang Kyung Joon's agency and the production team of 'The Return of Superman,' where the actor was appearing.

While rumors swirled regarding potential agreements between the parties involved, Kang Kyung Joon's submission of a power of attorney to the court indicated a defensive legal stance.

Following the court's decision to refer the case to mediation, Mr. A expressed his intention not to attend and subsequently applied for the lawsuit's transfer, suggesting a looming divorce filing. However, the court later postponed the mediation date, signaling a potential shift in the legal strategy.
