Seoul Milk has launched a new 'A2+ Milk' TV advertisement featuring the actress Park Eun Bin, sparking curiosity about the identities of the child models who also appeared in the ad.
On April 5, Seoul Milk announced Park Eun Bin as the new face of 'A2+ Milk' and premiered the advertisement. The advertisement showcases Park Eun Bin alongside three child models, with the striking resemblance between the actress and the child models becoming a popular talking point.
However, it was later revealed that the faces of the child models were created using artificial intelligence (AI) technology, overlaying Park Eun Bin's face.
Seoul Milk introduced this advertisement to illustrate Park Eun Bin's growth stages, from kindergarten to adolescence and adulthood, reflecting changes in the product packaging.
A representative from Seoul Milk Cooperative commented, "We believe that Park Eun Bin, who has steadily built her acting career since her childhood, perfectly embodies the fresh concept of our milk advertisement."
Korean netizens were surprised after finding out that the faces of the child models were replaced using AI technology, and commented, "I thought they looked very identical," "I think the advertisement should've mentioned somewhere that the child actors were replaced using AI programming," "I was able to notice that the children were CGI," and "AI programming is amazing these days."
On the other hand, netizens commented, "If they didn't mention that it was AI technology, I would've never noticed," "How far are they going to take AI technology?" and "Is it okay for them to use AI program like this without disclosing it?"
Meanwhile, this is not the first time that AI technology has been used to replace the faces of child actors.
Recently, in the popular Netflix Drama, 'A Killer Paradox,' AI technology was used to replace the face of the child actor for Son Seok Gu's younger character. At first, Son Seok Gu's child actor garnered much attention for his striking resemblance to the actor, but it was later revealed that the production team used AI technology using Son Seok Gu's actual childhood photos.
Even if it's morally right, it's still creepy. There should be already a rule to regulate AI
