On March 27th, a video titled 'The Reason Why There Were No Dating Rumors During Sandara Park's 15-Year Career Debut' was uploaded on the YouTube channel 'Supermarket Sora.'
During the video, Sandara Park responded to So Ra Lee's question about her interactions with former 2NE1 member Park Bom, saying, "We've been in touch and seen each other frequently lately. Bom is usually a homebody among the members, so it's not easy to meet her, but when the leader CL calls her out, she comes out to eat."
She continued, "These days, things have changed a lot. Bom used to skip out on our plans to celebrate her birthday together. She'd be sleeping at the dorm, so we'd just have dinner without her." Sandara also shared an anecdote about their past interactions.
Upon hearing this, So Ra Lee exclaimed, "How strong is the bond among the members that even when the person in question isn't there, you all say, 'It's Bom, so let's understand and eat together'?" Sandara responded, "During our active years, if something didn't go smoothly, we'd argue or get upset, but now that we've all developed different personalities, there's no reason to fight. I think as we've gotten older, it's become even more so."
A surprise phone call with Park Bom also caught attention. When So Ra Lee expressed disappointment about Bom's lack of communication, Bom casually replied, "My number changed, that's why," and when asked to appear on 'Supermarket Sora,' she humorously responded, "Is that even a thing?"
Sandara Park also revealed her feelings during the disbandment of 2NE1.
She said, "When I first met the members at the age of 20, CL was 16, and the youngest Minzy was 13. We spent half of our lives together. When I see the members, I feel emotional and grateful." She continued, "During our activities, we didn't drink or go to clubs, and we spent our good times in a dull way. Although we disbanded, it's nice that we can now gather and have sincere conversations while having fun."
She also opened up about the difficult process of disbandment, saying, "It wasn't easy. When we disbanded, I thought it was the end. We lost our home called 2NE1, and I wondered how we would meet our fans, how we would hold concerts, and how we would stand on stage."
Sandara Park shed tears as she revealed, "The treatment I receive is different when I go somewhere. There's a stark difference in temperature when I'm doing entertainment shows. There was a lot of heartache."
2NE1, formed under YG Entertainment in 2009, consisted of CL, Park Bom, Sandara Park, and Minzy. The group disbanded on November 25, 2016, when the members' contracts expired.
Small but important correction on the final paragraph: the group didn’t disband when the contracts expired. The only member that did not renew was Minzy.
Along with the announcement of Minzy’s departure, YG announced that CL, Bom and Dara had RENEWED THEIR CONTRACTS and would be making a comeback on the summer of 2016 with a new album as a trio. CL halted her American activities and flew to Korea to record the album.
Then in November of 2016, after the album clearly wasn’t released, YG made the decision to disband the group against the members’ wishes, ultimately blindsiding the three. CL says she was at a Thanksgiving dinner when her phone started blowing up and Minzy also said she found out through the news.
