Former Wonder Girls member Lim recently opened up about her married life and expressed her wish for her husband to attend church with her.
On March 12, Lim appeared as a special guest on 'Christian Mate,' and shared her views on her faith, career, and life.
Host Jo Hye Ryun started the conversation and said, "I think Wonder Girls are blessed by God. Sunye's husband is a missionary, and Sunmi and Lim are Christians as well." Lim also expressed her deep Christian faith and shared, "When I was a trainee, I always thought Wonder Girls was blessed by God. But soon after, I got to join the group."
Lim continued, "There were days I felt anxious and I would cry under the bed covers but I came this far thanks to God's grace."
However, Lim expressed her concerns that her husband is not a believer. She shared, "The only thing that I have a little bit of a problem with in terms of my husband is that he doesn't go to church. Usually, when you date, you go to church if your girlfriend asks you to, but my husband is stubborn. He's taken me to church before, but he's never gone with me."
In response, Jo Hye Ryun said, "I want to meet your husband. I want to boast about Jesus to him. People like him start having great faith once they get to know Jesus."
However, Korean netizens criticized Lim, saying she should not force her husband to follow her faith. They commented, "Why do you force your religion on others? Christians, please don't force others on your religion but please have faith on your own quietly," "I wish people think about who would be in a more uncomfortable position, the one forcing the religion or the one being forced on," "It's not like she didn't know he wasn't a believer before getting married. Why is she complaining about this in public?" "Isn't she the stubborn one trying to force her religion on a non-believer?" "If she wanted to go to church with her husband, then she should've met someone from church. Don't force it on him," and "Everyone has the freedom of religion, to have one or to not have one. So don't force it on us!"
She married him knowing he didn’t believe so at this point why is it an issue? As a Christian I find it weird when other Christian’s try to hold non believers to their standards. Morality is subjective. Why marry him if yall don’t have the same moral? Make it make sense
