A coalition of women's organizations, including the Suwon Women's Hotline, and the Suwon Citizens' Society Council, comprising around 30 civic groups, have called for the cancellation of an upcoming festival in Suwon featuring Japanese adult video (AV) actors. They argue that the event, named '2024 KXF The Fashion', constitutes sexual exploitation and commercialization of women's bodies.

At a press conference held in front of Suwon Station Culture Plaza on March 12 KST, the coalition denounced the event as promoting the objectification of women and facilitating sexual exploitation. They stressed the event's role in perpetuating a culture that commodifies women's sexuality and condemned it as a form of sexual violence.

The '2024 KXF The Fashion' event, organized by an adult content production company, is slated to take place over two days starting from April 20 KST. Similar events have been held in the past, including one in Gwangmyeong City last December. Attendees, who must be adults, will have the opportunity to interact with Japanese AV actors, take photos with them, and attend a lingerie fashion show for a fee.
