IU finally released her highly anticipated 6th mini-album 'The Winning' on February 20. On the same day, IU also released the official music video for "Shopper."
IU previously explained, "'Shopper' is a song that tells you to desire anything, whether it's material or abstract boldly. These days, it feels like a time when one must hide their desires and wants. Kids' dreams used to be so diverse. Now, it seems they've narrowed down to a few options: a celebrity, a YouTuber, or a stable salaried worker. While all are respectable professions, my dreams changed daily as a child. I believed I could do them all. It was shocking to realize that kids today focus more on their dreams' realistic aspects."
The music video for "Shopper" captures a whimsical vibe, weaving an engaging narrative of two individuals setting off on an adventure together. Notably, the male lead actor's visuals have not just piqued the interest of fans but have also sparked considerable attention from Korean netizens.
Korean netizens commented, "The male lead character in IU's 'Shopper' is good-looking. He's a music video director and visual director, and he's the one who directed IU's music video this time. I think his visuals are handsome," "He's DPR Ian, he used to be known as Rome in C-Clown," "He's good at speaking too," "He's good looking," "I really liked the music video for 'Shopper' it was 100% perfectly made," and "He's super talented."
This is one of the worst headlines I've ever seen here at AKP and I've seen some really weak ones. This time they ended up reducing Christian Yu to the "The male lead and music video director" and they didn't even bother to give his name or indicate that he is a singer, producer, director and part of DPR. Disrespectful to say the least, not surprising to be honest.
Anyway guys, this is Christian Yu, I know that most people here know him as an incredible singer with an impressive discography and videos that are a visual spectacle, as well as being a human being who is not afraid to show everything their sides, including Mito and Mr. Insanity.
Anyway, this IU album is incredible, a sound that might fit like a glove for the world tour. I think the choice of songs and partnerships for this album was strategic, and Christian's participation as voiceover and supporting actor in the clip made the vibe of the video even more fun.
First we cried with V and IU, then we flew like dandelions and now we chase our dreams with IU and Ian. This year is promising. So far so good.
