A chaebol heir has been indicted after an investigation into the drug-related case linked to Lee Sun Gyun

AKP STAFF

An investigation into a drug-related case linked to the late actor Lee Sun Gyun has resulted in the indictment of a third-generation chaebol.

According to legal sources on January 31, the Narcotics Crime Investigation Division of the Incheon Metropolitan Police formally charged 'A,' a chaebol heir, with violating the Narcotics Control Act due to alleged drug use.

'A' came under scrutiny in September of last year during a police investigation into actor Lee Sun Gyun and 'B,' the manager of an entertainment establishment in Gangnam, Seoul. The police extended their inquiry to include 'A' and three others, including aspiring entertainer 'C'.

The police plan to summon 'A' as a suspect shortly and conduct a preliminary drug test to ascertain the veracity of the drug use allegations.

In 2019, 'A' faced charges for suspected methamphetamine use and was handed a suspended prison sentence. Subsequently, in February of 2022, 'A' received an imprisonment sentence for another drug offense during the probation period and was subsequently released.

The police maintain that 'A's indictment is unrelated to the case involving Lee Sun Gyun. However, the earlier identification of 'A' as a person of interest in the Lee Sun Gyun-related drug case suggests that any potential involvement of this individual cannot be entirely dismissed.

So now other rich suspects are named A, B, C and whatever alphabets? Even the Madame had her identity concealed.

But as for Lee Sun Kun, G-Dragon and Yoo Ah In…

Seems like a drama that we've all watched many many times. So let's all get this straight in 2019 this rich person was convicted on drug allegations but receive the suspended sentence... Must be nice to be rich. So they knew about this rich person from the very beginning, and sacrificed these poor celebrities to cover up for this individual because well my gosh they are richer than they need to be. This is what happened when everyday normal average working people, how wealthy people up on unreachable plateaus, this is what happens when everyday average working people do not push their appointed and elected officials to enforce a fair play system... And when they don't ensure that the average working people get treated just like the wealthy people, then the average working people must go to the ballot box and vote them right out of office.

My question is who's going to be responsible for LSG's untimely death, now that you have new suspects that you're ready to drug test and file charges against. How is this going to compensate his family. No fairness or leniency was shown to that man, even if he did use an illegal substance by the country standard, he needed treatment not public persecution. I do feel empathy for LSG's family, that continue to grieve his loss... He's not there to be a father to his children and he doesn't have an opportunity or chance to be reconciled to his wife. It's a tragedy all the way around, and I just hope that the South Korean legal system gets it right this time no matter if that person is extremely wealthy or not.
