MONSTA X member Shownu is set to make his musical debut in the upcoming production of 'The Great Comet' at the Universal Arts Center in Seoul, starting March 26th.
According to Starship Entertainment, Shownu will be performing in this immersive musical, which is a reimagined creation based on Tolstoy's classic 'War and Peace' by renowned American composer and playwright Dave Malloy.
'The Great Comet', acclaimed for its innovative approach on Broadway, has won numerous awards, including two Tony Awards and four Drama Desk Awards. In its Korean premiere in 2021, it also garnered multiple accolades at the 6th Korea Musical Awards, including for production, choreography, stage design, lighting design, and ensemble.
In this highly anticipated musical, Shownu will play the role of Anatole, a character with irresistible charm. This marks his first foray into musical theater.
Shownu shared his thoughts on this new venture: "It's my first attempt at musicals, and I might lack in some areas, but I will practice hard to put on a great show." He also asked for interest and support for 'The Great Comet' and his new challenge.

The musical 'The Great Comet' featuring Shownu will run from March 26th to June 16th at the Universal Arts Center, with tickets going on sale next month on the 2nd.
