In his first trial for the issue, a man in his 20s accused of hitting a pedestrian with a Rolls-Royce while driving under the influence of drugs and fleeing the scene has been sentenced to 20 years in prison. The sentencing was handed down by Judge Choi Min Hye of the Seoul Central District Court's Criminal Division 26 at 10 AM on January 24 KST.
The defendant, Mr. Shin (29), had been arrested and indicted on charges related to the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Crimes, specifically for fleeing the scene after causing a death while driving under the influence.
The incident occurred when Mr. Shin, allegedly under the influence of drugs, was behind the wheel of a Rolls-Royce and struck a pedestrian. Instead of stopping to provide assistance or reporting the accident, he fled the scene. His actions resulted in the death of the pedestrian.
Judge Choi Min Hye presided over the trial and issued the verdict, sentencing Mr. Shin to 20 years in prison for his involvement in the hit-and-run incident.
After watching so many K-dramas..... i wonder of this person is the actual owner and driver of the Rolls, or a chauffeur/ secretary paid to take the blame so the chaebol goes scot free
