IU is currently embroiled in controversy due to alleged ableism in her "Love Wins All" music video.
The MV starring BTS' V released just yesterday is receiving praise from K-netizens, and V is trending on social media for his powerful acting performance opposite IU. However, some are criticizing the MV storyline and characters due to alleged discrimination in favor of able-bodied people without disabilities.
In the MV, IU, who is deaf, and V, who has lost his sight, depict the disabled, and they watch the love of non-disabled couples through camcorders. Some critics are pointing out that as the disabled, IU and V are objectified, and the world free of hate and discrimination at the end of the MV is simply the disappearance of disabilities. Others are stating that limiting those who face prejudice to a disability is rooted in prejudice.
With this controversy, IU's past interaction with actor Ha Ji Sung, who uses a wheelchair, has come to light. Ha Ji Sung and IU recently met at the 'Baeksang Arts Awards' ceremony, and he expressed IU's suggestion to take pictures encouraged him when he was questioning how he'll take a group photo despite difficulties with his wheelchair. IU's actual consideration for actors with disabilities brought up comments like, "You shouldn't jump to conclusions based on the interpretation of a music video," "You can't say IU is belittling the disabled after looking at her actual actions," and "It's unfortunate the music video is being overly interpreted."
What are your thoughts? Have you watched IU's "Love Wins All" MV?

Music video definatly was absolutely amazing story. I don't really see how it would mean belittling disabled. It's apocalyptic period when barely anyone survived and everyone dead by cube aliens, no don't matter who they were. It just feels some viewers just wanted to find something to be unhappy about, that's all.
