Fly to the Sky's Brian openly confessed that his recent income has significantly increased.
In the latest 'Radio Star' episode that aired on January 3, Brian appeared as a special guest alongside Park Joon Hyung, Yunho, and Jung Jae Hyung. These four guests shared stories displaying their passion for everything they do.
Brian shared how he transitioned from a singer to a show host during the talk show.
He explained, "My throat hasn't been in good condition for a while. So, I was looking for other activities other than singing, and I received a call from a home shopping network. It turned out to be the perfect job for me. As I expanded my scope, a major company proposed I try live commerce. Originally, I planned to film only 2-3 episodes, but thanks to the positive responses, I became a permanent member."
He continued, "The cumulative sales I generated for that company in a year amounted to 15.7 billion KRW (12 million USD). There aren't many overseas Koreans in the live commerce industry," and added, "I earn much more now than I did while promoting with Fly to the Sky."
When asked, "Are things better now even though you have so many hit songs?" Brian responded, "The money earned in the 2-3 years of doing this is much more than the earnings I made as a singer in the last 25 years."
Despite having no income for the first seven years after his debut, Brian revealed he has recently acquired around 300 pyeong (11,000 square feet) of land.
Brian also opened up about his YouTube show 'Cleaning Freak Brian' and explained, "At first I was worried. When I met with the production team they said they only had me in mind when they planned content about cleaning. I thought it was just a superficial remark to cast me. But when I watch other cleaning content, it's not fun. I watch them to learn (how to clean)."
He continued, "So I thought 'Would people watch something like this?' At first I said I would think about it. I told my manager I wouldn't do it. But I decided to share with people my way of cleaning and they captured my candid personality and that content surpassed 3 million views."
Brian added, "A lot of people message me saying they purchased a cleaning product thanks to me or their kid started to clean after watching me."
Its surprising how much live commerce hosts make just selling things on live streams. I think many retired idols can do it if they got the personality to do it.
