Four days ago, Korean online communities were abuzz as there were rumors that a particular boy group member was allegedly at a nightclub on the same day of '2023 MBC Gayo Daejejeon.'
The rumor surrounded The Boyz member Juyeon as one netizen discovered a social media post posted by Juyeon's non-celebrity friend. This netizen claimed that the friend also tagged a nightclub and alleged that Juyeon had been at the club.
After the claims were made, netizens quickly searched the web for more information on the post. After examining the other tagged social media accounts, netizens deduced that Juyeon had attended a party at the nightclub.
Speculation arose that the gathering was, in fact, a birthday party for an acquaintance and had taken place in a private room at a recently opened club in Hannam Dong.
However, on January 4, a fan debunked the rumors and uploaded proof that Juyeon was attending a different event that was taking place at a different location.
The fan who debunked the rumors wrote, "Since the other post was fabricated and distorting information about Juyeon, feel free to capture this!! Nate Pann has already provided all the necessary legal information, so fans, make sure to keep PDF files of malicious comments."
The poster continued, "Juyeon attended a simple birthday celebration of an acquaintance and the acquaintance posted a video featuring Juyeon on their Instagram story. Without any basis, someone fabricated the location of the video as being a 'club' and focused on the 'club' and 'women' to create a provocative post, suggesting that Juyeon went to a club and was hanging out with women."
The poster continued, "The most crucial point is that the place that Juyeon went to was not a club. The 'club' mentioned by the fabricator is a completely different venue from the one where Juyeon was. So, it means the fabricator stitched two different videos and fabricated the post. The place Juyeon went to was a place called 'Baustelle Zazz,' a jazz performance venue and exhibition space, also functioning as a pet-friendly cafe and pub used as brand pop-up stores."
The netizen supplemented their claim with additional intricate photographs of Baustelle Jazz, providing compelling evidence that Juyeon was indeed present at this venue and not the alleged club. The poster meticulously captured images showcasing the interior of Baustelle Jazz, methodically numbering each photo frame. Subsequently, they conducted a meticulous comparison between these interior shots and the scenes depicted in Juyeon's acquaintance's video.
The netizen further explained, "Upon scrutinizing each frame, furniture, and internal structure from top to bottom, it becomes evident that everything precisely matches. Moreover, since this place closes its operation no later than 1-2 AM, speculating that Juyeon indulged in drinking all night is unfounded. Furthermore, the accusation that Juyeon visited a 'club' on the day of the year-end music festival is pure conjecture. Considering that The Boyz's live stage performance extended beyond midnight on January 1, both the claims of being at the 'club' and the event happening on the same day are false."
Korean netizens commented, "I guess Juyeon lived such a clean life that there's nothing to criticize him for. So the only thing they could make up was him going to a c.l.u.b. lol. Even if he went to the 'club,' he went to a birthday party so it's not even a problem. But it turns out it wasn't even a club. They made up lies because they have no dirt on Juyeon," "Filing a lawsuit against the spreader of this misinformation seems urgent. It was excessively malicious, and while there were some individuals who unilaterally left malicious comments. In reality, it wasn't a big deal, but ironically, this incident might have a positive impact on Juyeon's image, as many people seem to have a better perception of him now," "The spreader of false information deleted the post and ran. So low," and "Let's sue them."
Anyone else think it's ridiculous that someone has had to go to these lengths to disprove a malicious posting?
.
I hope whoever fabricated the original post gets found, prosecuted, and named and shamed. I don't understand why they do it, I really don't.
