On January 31 KST, a production presentation for the JTBC drama 'Queen of Divorce' was held in Seoul. 'Queen of Divorce' tells the story of Korea's best divorce solver, who offers a solution to punish a 'bad spouse' by ending their client's problematic marriage.
Kang Ki Young, stepping into his first leading role in 'Queen of Divorce,' shared his excitement about this new challenge. He stated, "I feel a lot of pressure as I take on my first male lead role. I'm curious and excited to see how people will perceive it."
Reflecting on his experience, Kang Ki Young mentioned leaning on senior actress and main lead Lee Ji Ah for support. He humorously commented, "I once said that it always felt like there were four feet on a square table, but this time it felt like there were only two. It was challenging to maintain my balance. If you ask me if I enjoyed it, I'd say, 'I wanted to enjoy it,' with a bit of nervousness."
He continued, "Initially, I was quite nervous, but Lee Ji Ah encouraged me to approach the role with excitement. After that, I was able to watch her performance comfortably. She's an amazing senior actress."
Discussing their on-screen chemistry, Kang Ki Young revealed, "At first, we were a bit shy, but as we grew closer and shared romantic scenes, our bond deepened quickly. I'd rate our chemistry as a 9.5 out of 10." Playfully, Lee Ji Ah inquired, "Why did you deduct 0.5 points?"
Lee Ji Ah expressed her satisfaction with the drama's comedic aspects and noted her spontaneous ad-libs during filming. She shared, "This drama has a comical side, and I had a lot of fun with Kang Ki Young. There were times when I spontaneously ad-libbed without informing the director, and it was enjoyable." Kang Ki Young added, "I didn't initially expect her to have such a comedic side. She contributed some cool ad-libs and suggestions, resulting in many entertaining scenes."
So happy for him, he is so deserving of a lead role, he is a great actor and handsome to boot. I look forward to this!
