Wheesung an update on his current status.
On December 16 KST, Wheesung revealed on his personal Instagram account, "It's been a while. Due to severe mental anguish, I've been hiding at home for a long time," indicating that he had been leading a more reclusive life lately.
He continued, saying, "I tried styling my hair for the first time in a while. I'll try to update more frequently."
In the shared photos, Wheesung is seen with curly hair and a slightly fuller face compared to the past.
In 2019, Wheesung was indicted for habitual use of the anesthetic propofol (a psychotropic drug), and in 2020, he was discovered collapsed in a restroom in a building in Songpa-gu, Seoul after administering the anesthetic. Subsequently, he received a sentence of one year in prison, probation for two years, 40 hours of community service, and 40 hours of drug treatment lectures.
After announcing his return as a singer through a concert commemorating his 20th debut anniversary last year, he had been updating fans through social media. In April, he confessed to overcoming alcohol addiction, while in July, he alarmed fans by stating, "If people are claiming that depression is fake or just a trick, or if they argue whether delusions or hallucinations exist, then such individuals are the worst murderers of our time. Thanks to them, I wanted to die more."
