Antenna, the agency representing singer Kyuhyun, has issued a cautionary statement regarding impersonation attempts. On December 20 KST, the agency conveyed a message through Kyuhyun's fan community, addressing a case of someone impersonating the artist within the Weverse community.
The statement read, "We would like to inform you about an incident involving impersonation of our artist within the Weverse community. We recently identified an attempt to exploit this situation for financial gain by impersonating our artist through comments made in the Weverse community."
Furthermore, Antenna emphasized its proactive stance on addressing the issue, stating, "Given the potential for financial harm, Antenna is diligently reporting such comments and accounts."
The agency also stressed that neither the artists nor any agency staff members engage in personal contact or make any financial requests. They urged fans and users to stay informed by referring to Weverse notices to prevent any potential harm when using the community.
In other news, Kyuhyun is set to release his new EP, titled 'Restart,' available on various music platforms starting at 6 PM on January 9 KST.
There are impersonators of lots of artists all over social media. It’s sad when someone falls victim and loses money thinking they are talking to their biases. People have to know though that the chances of their favs really messaging them are basically zero.
