Kep1er is continuing to thrive in the Japanese market.
The group recently received recognition from the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ) for their third Japanese single album 'FLY-HIGH,' which was released last month. As of November 2023, the cumulative net shipments reached 100,000 units, automatically earning the record a 'Gold' certification.
This marks their third consecutive 'Gold' certification RIAJ has given Kep1er for their albums, following last year's September debut single album 'FLY-UP' and this year's March release of the second single 'FLY-BY,' both surpassing 100,000 units in cumulative shipments.
The RIAJ distinguishes certifications like 'Gold,' 'Platinum,' 'Double Platinum,' 'Triple Platinum,' and 'Million' based on monthly cumulative album sales, announcing them monthly on their official website.
Kep1er's 'FLY-HIGH' also proved its immense local popularity by reaching #2 on Japan's Oricon Daily and Weekly Single Charts upon its release.
Prior to the single's launch, Kep1er held their first solo fan meeting in Japan titled 'Kep1er JAPAN FAN MEETING - Fairy Fantasia' at Tokyo Garden Theater in October, and are also set to host a fan concert 'Kep1er JAPAN FAN CONCERT 2023 'FLY-HIGH'' in February and March next year. They have also actively engaged with local fans through appearances on renowned Japanese broadcasts like TBS' 'CDTV Live! Live!' special, NHK's 'Venue 101,' and Nihon TV's 'Best Artist 2023.'
As it should, it's one of the best Japanese releases by a Kpop girl group ever. Congratulations to Kep1er!
