J.Y. Park donates 1 billion won to support vulnerable children's medical expenses for the second consecutive year

Renowned artist and head of JYP Entertainment, J.Y. Park, has once again demonstrated his commitment to philanthropy by donating a substantial sum of 1 billion won from his personal wealth this year. This generous contribution follows his previous donation of 1 billion won last year, totaling 2 billion won over two years.

This year's 1 billion won donation is aimed at providing financial support for vulnerable children and adolescents facing exorbitant medical expenses, particularly those in need of critical surgeries and treatments. The funds, sourced from J.Y. Park's personal funds, will be distributed among five prominent hospitals in South Korea, including the Samsung Seoul Hospital in Seoul. Each hospital will receive 200 million won to assist children requiring compassionate care.

In a humble request, he conveyed his desire for the donation to make a positive impact on the lives of children, rather than seeking grand gestures of recognition.

JY Park has not limited his generosity to personal donations alone. In his capacity as the representative producer of JYP Entertainment, he has consistently engaged in meaningful activities aimed at giving back to society in diverse ways. Since 2002, JYP, along with its artists, has celebrated the holiday season by organizing year-end charity concerts held at the Samsung Seoul Hospital's pediatric ward. These events have brought joy and smiles to young patients.

To further amplify the love and support received from the public, JYP formalized its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives in 2019 under the banner of 'EDM' (Every Dream Matters!: All dreams in the world are precious). This comprehensive approach encompasses several projects, including the 'EDM Treatment Cost Support Project,' which assists children with incurable diseases facing financial difficulties, the 'EDM Wish Fulfillment Project,' designed to instill hope by offering emotional support to children with serious illnesses, and the 'Love Earth' initiative, an eco-friendly project dedicated to creating a healthier environment for all.

Y'all need to stop giving him a hard time and acknowledge that he's not that bad. I know his past performances have been...interesting to say the least (especially the most recent one), but he's not an awful person.

1B won is about US$760K. Say what you will about his eccentricities, but this is really a very nice thing he did regardless if its for publicitiy or not. I seen him in a few shows and he seems to be very passionate about what he do and he doesn't come across as a terrible person.
