Han Ye Seul shared her honest thoughts on the death of former reporter/YouTuber Kim Yong Ho, who had spread malicious rumors about her in the past.
On December 8, Han Ye Seul uploaded a video on her YouTube channel, updating her fans on her life.
In the video, Han Ye Seul mentioned the late Kim Yong Ho, who had taken his own life back in October.
Han Ye Seul expressed, "He could have turned away from that path (of spreading malicious rumors) and lived a new life. It's a bit unfortunate and sad to think about. I think he missed the chance to (live a new life and make amends for his wrongdoings)."
She continued, "It's not easy to go through a trial and lawsuit. It was so tough but it just ended overnight. The case dropped because there is no defendant." She added," I couldn't tolerate his actions because they were so malicious. I confronted him with the mind set that 'it's all or nothing'."
The actress explained she was used to the "witch hunt" in the entertainment industry, so she was more concerned about her boyfriend, who also had rumors spread about him. She explained, "I took him to the U.S. because I wanted him to see that the world is bigger outside (of Korea). So, he went through a lot of internal healing, and became much healthier (mentally). Now, he's all happy happy."
In 2021, Han Ye Seul filed defamation lawsuits against individuals, including YouTuber Kim Yong Ho, who spread false information or engaged in offensive expressions.
Kim Yong Ho also faced allegations of extorting hundreds of millions of KRW by threatening to reveal negative content about celebrities on his YouTube channel since August 2020. However, he passed away in October, just before the substantive hearing for the arrest warrant.
