Former T-ara member Ahreum revealed her fiance attempted suicide following multiple allegations.

Though she personally shut down rumors about her fiance and upcoming marriage, it seems many still persisted. On December 14, Ahreum revealed her husband-to-be had attempted to take his own life after allegations against him involving sexual assault and fraud. She expressed, "Because of all the contacts and malicious comments about my boyfriend, he attempted to take his own life."

Ahreum further stated she would be taking legal action against malicious commenters, stating, "I want to ask those who caused this. Are you happy now? I'm used to malicious comments, but my boyfriend isn't. I'm shaking in anger writing this. My heart hurts thinking of all the pain oppa went through these past couple of days. I can't help but think it's because of the malicious comments, speculation, and harassment. I'm crying as I think of how hurt and scared he was and how I couldn't protect him. Regardless of the fact that he still woke up, I will strongly punish those who wrote these things."

Ahreum's fiance is rumored to have spent time in prison for sexual assault and fraud, and he was also alleged to have been a screenwriter for 'Believer 2'. The former T-ara member denied the allegations, clarifying her fiance was a cafe owner.
