Netizens are reacting to the grueling military training awaiting V as part of SDT.
On online forums, netizens are delving into the qualifications and training associated with SDT, the Special Duty Team that BTS V has chosen to join. According to a former SDT serviceman, SDT operates within the Republic of Korea Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corps. Those enlisted in SDT must first undergo training with one of these branches before receiving specialized training for their SDT duties.
When asked about his favorite aspects of serving in SDT, the former serviceman shared that SDT offers unique experiences that are rarely encountered in everyday civilian life. These include activities like descending from a helicopter using a rappel and firing hundreds of rounds from a machine gun.
SDT soldiers also undergo Close Quarter Battle (CQB) training to prepare for close combat situations, particularly in counter-terrorism scenarios.
The former serviceman also revealed that one of the most demanding challenges he faced was wearing a black combat uniform weighing approximately 20 kilograms (~44 lbs) during summer conditions.
To qualify for SDT, candidates must meet rigorous physical standards, including running 3 kilometers (~1.86 miles) in under 12 minutes and 30 seconds, completing at least 14 pull-ups, executing 72 push-ups in 2 minutes, and performing 86 sit-ups in 2 minutes.
Netizens reacted with a mix of admiration and concern:
"Please do not get hurt..."
"You're so cool, V, for having signed up for this"
"Thanks for all this info!!"
"I just hope he doesn't hurt himself"
"It's better to go in the winter then, I see..."
"V has Cholinergic allergy, so I hope he is okay"
"I'll be waiting!!"
"Please be safe"
"Whoa I didn't know his physical qualifications were this good"
"I can barely run 3 km in 25 minutes...If he can do it in 12 min and 30 seconds then how fast is he...? omg"
"Wow, I guess he has a really tough physique"
"Looks really tough.."
What are your thoughts?
It's looks tough but Tae is confident he can handle it. I just hope he returns safe & uninjured.
