Rapper Dok2 and actress Kim Hye-sun have been revealed to owe tens of millions of won in health insurance premiums.
On December 27, the National Health Insurance Service (NHIS) of South Korea released a list of high-amount, habitual defaulters from the four major social insurance providers on its website.
According to the release, Kim Hye-sun has been in arrears since May 2014, accumulating about $22,500 (27 million won) in unpaid health insurance premiums. Dok2, on the other hand, has accrued about $18,333 (22 million won) in unpaid premiums from April 2018 to March 2022. Dok2 was previously listed for non-payment of health insurance premiums in 2020 and 2021.
The NHIS stated that Kim Hye-sun applied for installment payments nine times since April 2015, and Dok2 once applied for an installment payment due to a bank account seizure in February 2019, but these were canceled due to non-compliance. The NHIS releases the names of those who fail to pay health insurance premiums of over 10 million won (approximately 7,600 US Dollars) for more than one year or pension insurance premiums of over 20 million won (about 15,200 US Dollars) after providing a certain period for payment and an opportunity for explanation, followed by a review process.
Dok2 again. He always seems to be in financial trouble of some kind.
