KOZ Entertainment, the agency representing BOYNEXTDOOR, officially issued an apology on December 19 KST in response to recent concerns regarding the excessive behavior of the group's bodyguards.
In their statement, the agency expressed their regret, stating, "We sincerely apologize to our fans for the issues arising from the inappropriate conduct of the security personnel who were responsible for ensuring BOYNEXTDOOR's safety at the airport on December 16."
The agency also revealed that they had personally extended apologies to those who were directly affected by the incident. Furthermore, they announced that the security personnel involved would not be assigned to provide security for their artists in the future. To prevent such incidents from occurring again, KOZ Entertainment stated that they would be implementing additional security training and guidance for their personnel. They expressed their commitment to enhancing security education to avoid any future occurrences.
The controversy arose when a video surfaced online showing an individual, believed to be BOYNEXTDOOR's bodyguard, forcefully pushing a female fan. The incident was met with disapproval from netizens, with some characterizing it as an assault. Concerns were raised regarding the excessive security measures employed during the incident, leading to the agency's prompt apology and commitment to addressing the issue moving forward.
I think it's the right move to apologize, while the fan was in the wrong for being so close to the idols, the bodyguard shouldn't have pushed that hard.
