On December 22, SBS reported the arrest of a well-known male TikTok star, referred to as 'A,' in his 20s. With a large following on both YouTube and TikTok, he was apprehended by the police for allegedly sexually assaulting an intoxicated woman, an incident in which another man was also involved.
According to the report, 'A' gained fame as a male influencer after starting to upload videos on TikTok in 2020, and he also appeared on TV variety programs.
However, 'A's activities have recently ceased on various social media platforms. This break is linked to accusations that in July, 'A' sexually assaulted a woman, known as 'B,' after they had drinks together and he took her to a friend's house.
Despite 'A's YouTube channel boasting over 10 million subscribers, there have been no updates since August. Simultaneously, his TikTok account also went dormant during this period.
When 'B' reported the incident, 'A' and his acquaintances initially didn't let the police in, which led to the fire department making a forced entry. 'B' recalls waking up to the sound of a video being recorded and then being sexually assaulted by two people.
On December 12, the police arrested 'A' and another person involved, charging them with rape three days later. 'A,' however, claimed during questioning that the sexual activity was consensual.
The police also looked into whether 'A' and others had illegally recorded the incident, but they didn't find any such evidence on their phones, so those charges were dropped. Nonetheless, on December 21, both 'A' and his accomplice were officially charged with rape. Their first court hearing is set for January 17 of the following year.
With the information that has been provided, many netizens have speculated that the Tiktoker in question is 'WonJeong' aka 'Mama Boy Ox Zung' who is very famous for uploading various reenactments and reaction videos on TikTok and YouTube. However, he has stopped uploading new content since around August, matching the report's timeline.
I hope the victim gets some justice, she's very brave to step forward.
