The movie 'Concrete Utopia' achieved a remarkable feat at the '59th Grand Bell Awards,(Daejongsang Yeonghwajae)' winning the Best Picture award and securing six awards in total.
On the evening of the 15th, the '59th Grand Bell Awards' took place at Gyeonggi Art Center's Grand Theater. The event was broadcast live on Naver TV and ENA, with actor Cha In Pyo and comedian Jang Do Yeon as the hosts.
The honor of the Best Picture award went to 'Concrete Utopia.' Climax CEO Byeon Seung-min took the stage to receive the award. On this day, 'Concrete Utopia' not only won the Best Picture award but also secured five additional awards, including Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress, Art Direction, Sound Effects, and Visual Effects, achieving a grand total of six awards. Director Ryu Seung-wan of 'Smuggling' won the Best Director award and, unable to attend in person, conveyed his acceptance speech through a video message.
Kim Seo Hyung of 'Vinyl House' won the Best Actress award. Kim expressed her gratitude, saying, "It was an honorable year where I could introduce and talk about 'Vinyl House' on behalf of the shared results. Thank you to all the people involved in leaving footprints in independent films." Kim Seo Hyung added, "As always, I will be in that place with good opportunities and works. Thank you."
For the Best Actor award, Lee Byung Hun of 'Concrete Utopia' took the spotlight. Unable to attend the ceremony due to filming schedules, Lee Byung Hun delivered his acceptance speech through a video. He expressed, "Even after the pandemic, many theaters were affected, and it's still ongoing. Despite that, many people showed interest in and watched movies, so I was more thankful and happy than ever. I will continue to meet you with good works in the future."
