Seol In Ah and Ryeoun, who have garnered praise for their exceptional performance in the hit drama 'Twinkling Watermelon,' recently shared their thoughts on the series' conclusion.
Seol In Ah, who took on the dual role of Choi Se Kyung in 1995 and On Eun Yu in 2023, left a lasting impression on viewers with her passionate acting. She remarked, "I approached each day with excitement, curious about the new opportunities and changes that life will bring my way. 'Twinkling Watermelon' felt as enchanting as its title suggests, and through this drama, I discovered the power of storytelling and the beauty of communication." She emphasized her deep affection for the project.
The talented actress went on to express her gratitude for the warm connection she formed with the audience through this remarkable work. She credited this sense of gratitude for inspiring her to continue giving her best. Seol In Ah declared her commitment to becoming an exceptional actor, fueled by enthusiasm and a positive outlook, expressing her heartfelt appreciation to the viewers who supported her until the very end.
Ryeoun, who played the role of Ha Eun Gyeol, the only hearing person among his hearing-impaired family, also expressed his thoughts by saying, “It’s a bit sad to say goodbye to people I’ve worked with for so long, but it’s also refreshing.” He continued, “I am very satisfied with the ending. We all had heated discussions with the other actors about the ending, but after the script for the last episode came out, we all agreed that this was the best ending.”
Ryeoun concluded by stating, "Actually, this is a work that I will remember as my youth. Aren’t there many meanings to youth? There can be friendship, friends, excitement, music, and acting school. There are many things, and they're all implied in this project. So, while filming, I realized that I was feeling 'youth' on set. In the future, if someone asks, ‘What does youth mean to you?’, I think I can say that it was the time I worked on ‘Watermelon’. “I hope viewers (like me) will think of it as a drama that captures the feeling of youth.”
I'm kind of conflicted about this one, on the one hand it was a bit silly, and we had people who are definitely adults attempting to portray teenagers again, which doesn't work for me and isn't believable, but I did enjoy it, mostly watching for the soundtrack, which was fantastic. OST of the year so far for me.
.
The ending was ok, at least it was left feeling complete.
