NewJeans wins Daesang within just 1 year of debut at the 2023 MAMA Awards

On the evening of the 29th, the '2023 MAMA Awards' took place at the Tokyo Dome in Japan.

NewJeans achieved a significant milestone by winning the 'Samsung Galaxy Song of the Year' for their track 'Ditto.' Among the nominees for the prestigious award were (G)I-DLE's 'Queencard,' IVE's 'I AM,' Jisoo's 'Flower,' Jungkook's 'Seven,' and NewJeans's 'Ditto.'

Despite not attending the ceremony, NewJeans celebrated their victory for 'Ditto.' The song achieved a remarkable feat with over 400 million streams and secured the top spot on the Billboard 200 within just one year of their debut, dominating various domestic charts.

NewJeans further excelled by sweeping three awards, including 'Song of the Year,' 'Best Female Group,' and 'Best Dance Performance Female Group,' marking a triumphant achievement.

Meanwhile, the 'Chapter 2' event on the 29th will continue with award categories such as 'Song of the Year,' 'Artist of the Year,' and 'Album of the Year' based on music and album data.
