Actor Lee Sun Gyun (48) has once again received a negative result in his second detailed drug test, specifically examining his body hair.
The National Forensic Service recently notified the police that a drug-negative reaction was detected in the additional precise analysis of Lee Sun Gyun's armpit hair.
Earlier last week, the police had collected Lee Sun Gyun's armpit hair for detailed testing after negative results from the first urine reagent test, second hair strand analysis, and third armpit hair analysis. The detailed examination of leg hair was deemed impossible due to insufficient hair weight.
With consecutive negative results, Lee Sun Gyun has essentially experienced a situation where the police failed to secure concrete evidence. Criticism has been growing, suggesting that proceeding with the investigation without clear evidence may be unwarranted.
Lee Sun Gyun has not admitted to the drug allegations. In response to reporters' questions, he stated that he would cooperate sincerely with the investigation but did not admit to the allegations. During the police inquiry, he mentioned receiving a sleep aid from a female entertainment establishment manager but emphasized that it was not confirmed whether the substance was a narcotic.
An official from the National Police Agency's Investigation Unit acknowledged in a press conference on the 13th that the investigation was initiated without clear evidence, stating, "It's true," and acknowledging the uncertainty of the situation. The official emphasized that starting the investigation with clear statements was not an unreasonable decision and dismissed claims of conducting an unreasonable investigation based on the negative results.
At this point I think it is pretty obvious that the police got a list of names off this woman's phone, spotted some high profile celebs, got all excited, made some huge assumptions, and set off their usual process where they inform the media to get public pressure and confessions, then tried to collect the evidence.
.
What they didn't expect was that there wasn't any evidence to collect because neither man had done drugs, and one of them had the intelligence, drive, power, and nous, to make the police look very very stupid.
.
The police have messed up, big time. They should apologise just as publicly, pay compensation to both men for loss of income, and review their processes to stop this happening again.
