G-Dragon reiterates that he did not use drugs in exclusive interview with News Prime.
On the 13th, Yonhap News TV's 'NewsPrime' featured an interview with G-Dragon (Kwon Ji-yong).
G-Dragon said the reason for deciding to do the interview was, "I had a lot of concerns about deciding to do the interview myself, but I decided to gather my courage to show the public my innocence and deliver the truth."
When asked if he had used drugs, G-Dragon firmly responded, "I did not."
When asked about his expectations for the precise test results, he said, "Naturally, it should come out negative." He added, "Once again, I have never used drugs, nor have I ever given or received drugs from anyone, so if any substances were detected in my body, it would be impossible."
Regarding his voluntary attendance at the police station, he explained, "I know myself the best. I voluntarily attended because I had no relation to the recent drug-related suspicions. I attended to prove my innocence as soon as possible."
There were also criticisms of his attitude during the police questioning. G-Dragon clarified, "If we explain it based on the day of the investigation, I actually didn't have much experience, and I was also nervous as I am just a human. That might have been reflected in my behavior. However, it's not at all what it appears to be. It is completely different from my intentions."
He further expressed concern, saying, "In fact, there were worries on our side due to malicious articles containing indiscriminate mockery or expressions like 'manner less' in connection with my behavior on the day of the investigation. We are concerned that such misunderstandings may have caused difficulties for the police officers who are working around the clock. We hope you do not misunderstand."
The Relationship between Nightclub Madame and Drug Supply Doctor – What Does G-Dragon Say?
G-Dragon responded, "There is no relationship at all. Once again, I can say that I have no connection to any of the allegations related to drug crimes. So, I can say that."
When asked about the reports that a doctor supplied drugs, he said, "If it's that person's statement, I have nothing to say, but I have never received anything from him. I don't even know who this doctor is, and actually, I am curious to find out."
Regarding the discovery of suspicious packaging in the restroom of a nightclub he visited and reports that his behavior seemed unusual, G-Dragon said, "I have no explanation for what that person is doing. Based on what I know so far, it seems that that person's behavior is strange. I have been hearing that he has a prior record related to drugs, and he is a single person. So, I also have many doubts about the credibility of his statement."
Regarding the reports of shaving his entire body before police attendance, G-Dragon stated, "The content of the article titled 'Shaved Entire Body' is entirely different from the truth. After last year's album activities, I have not bleached or dyed my hair for over a year. The most important point is that I voluntarily submitted my hair, fingernails, and toenails for examination to prove my innocence, even though the police had neither a warrant for communication nor a body search warrant."
He further emphasized, "This seems to be a crucial point of this case. I keep feeling that we are deviating slightly from the essential context of the case. I don't know why other suspicions and misunderstandings continue to grow, but the key issue here is whether or not I used drugs, and I believe it will be proven."
Many of the public have raised suspicions about G-Dragon due to his altered way of speaking and excessive body movements, believing that he may be using drugs.
G-Dragon expressed his disappointment, saying, "It is natural for people to judge me based on my appearance under the spotlight in the entertainment industry, as it is different from how I appear in my daily life in places without such attention. However, I am genuinely saddened by the fact that this situation is related to the drug case."
He added, "To provide a bit more explanation, I started my child acting career at the age of six, and I have been in the entertainment industry for 30 years. Since I've been dancing for a long time, I might be a bit more flexible physically than the average person."
G-Dragon continued, "My way of speaking may also have become more guarded and meticulous since at some point, I began to feel the weight of every word I say. With influence and attention comes a sense of responsibility. I don't have a compulsion to speak meticulously, but I started taking more time to think about what I say, even for simple and casual questions. This process takes more time."
He emphasized once again that these traits don't have any relation to drug use allegations: "These aspects are genuinely intended to answer every question, no matter how trivial, in a sincere and responsible manner to everyone who encounters me through the media or elsewhere. But if these characteristics come across as awkward or straying from the context, I need to address and improve that. I deeply contemplate my thoughts and beliefs, and I am not just speaking nonsense."
I feel really bad for him. He must feel really terrible for being under such negative light again and again when he’d done nothing wrong. I remember a long time ago he once said how he felt upset when people pointed at him as a drug abuser. He must be feeling worse now.
