Former EXO Member Kris (Chinese name Wu Yifan, Canadian nationality) Faces Confirmed 13-Year Prison Sentence in China.
On the 24th, Beijing's Third Intermediate People's Court upheld the original ruling of a 13-year prison sentence for Kris, the former member of EXO, on charges of rape and group licentiousness, dismissing his appeal. As China adopts a two-instance system, this decision in the appellate court is considered final.
The court stated, "Wu Yifan took advantage of situations where a majority of the victims were under the influence of alcohol to engage in sexual acts, constituting rape. Additionally, he organized and participated in licentious activities, making him the main perpetrator of group licentiousness." The judges emphasized that the facts acknowledged in the original verdict were clear and the evidence was sufficient and convincing.
Kris, also known as Wu Yifan, was accused in July 2018 of engaging in licentious activities with two women at his home. Furthermore, in December 2020, he faced accusations of sexually assaulting three women in a similar manner at his residence while they were intoxicated.
In the initial trial, the Beijing Chaoyang District People's Court sentenced Kris to 11 years and 6 months for rape and 1 year and 10 months for group licentiousness. An order for deportation upon completing the sentence was also issued. Therefore, Kris is expected to be deported to Canada after serving his term. Canada has a policy of administering chemical castration to sex offenders, raising the possibility of Kris facing a similar measure.
Kris debuted with the group EXO on April 8, 2012, and left the group in 2014 before pursuing individual activities in China. In 2017, he also appeared in the film "Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets."
Apparently Kris still has some fans on here. You can downvote people all you like and it isn't going to get his worthless behind out of prison any time soon.
