K-dramas have gained global popularity for their compelling storylines and unique cultural flair. Typically, Korean dramas tend to showcase storylines with affluent male protagonists paired with less privileged female counterparts. However, there are noteworthy instances where the female leads take center stage as exceptionally wealthy characters.

Let’s delve into five popular and hit K-dramas featuring rich female leads.

HOTEL DEL LUNA

“HOTEL DEL LUNA" is a riveting K-drama with a wealthy female lead. The protagonist, Jang Man-wol, played by IU, is the CEO of the mysterious Hotel Del Luna. Her opulent lifestyle is reflected in her wardrobe, luxurious surroundings, and the intricacies of her complex personality.

It’s Okay To Not Be Okay

“It's Okay To Not be Okay" boasts a rich and complex female lead who transcends the conventional

portrayals of wealth in Korean dramas. Ko Mun-yeong, portrayed brilliantly by Seo Yea-ji, is an antisocial children's book author with a mysterious past, and her wealth serves as a backdrop to her internal struggles and emotional depth.

Crash Landing on You

"Crash Landing on You," the immensely popular K-drama, features a captivating and richly portrayed female lead named Yoon Se-ri, played by Son Ye-jin. Yoon Se-ri is a successful and strong-willed South Korean heiress. The drama turns unexpectedly when Se-ri finds herself stranded in North Korea after a paragliding accident.

My Love from the Star

The rich and captivating character of the female lead in "My Love from the Star," Cheon Song-Yi, portrayed by Jun Ji-Hyun, adds depth and charm to the popular drama. Cheon Song-Yi is a top Hallyu star with a glamorous lifestyle, marked by her stunning beauty, sophisticated fashion sense, and undeniable charisma.

Angel’s Last Mission: Love

In "Angel's Last Mission: Love," the rich and complex character of Lee Yeon-Seo, portrayed by Shin Hye-sun, adds a layer of sophistication. As the heiress to a renowned ballet company, Yeon-seo initially embodies the archetype of a privileged and seemingly unattainable woman. It's Okay to not be Okay was a gorgeous and heartbreaking story, but after learning about Seo Yeji's various controversies that haven't been cleared up, my opinion of her has soured.

100% still recommend the drama. It's an absolute gem.
